“artists don't own the meaning of their works” -Roberta Smith
“you don’t have to understand the narrative, it’s the voice that is important” -Jerome Silbergeld
“how to fight the angels who would bring you to heaven” is piece that is a sister to “how to no” The tittle i have used often in drawings and it could be a series of paintings. The frailty of the composition fit the tittle. Some of my favourite themes of bias and fallacy and humility. What is it to fight? To identify an enemy, and fight against that enemy working against our best interests? Someone brings pain into our life; someone or something triggers pain and loss. We die somehow, figuratively, are we reborn in heaven? or hell? Wasn’t it that pain and death that brought us into heaven? Turned us more angelic? Maybe the devils and angels are the same.
